The Knights’ were the Vojetch Invite runner-ups. Several of the younger wrestlers cinching the championship of their weight class. Freshman Cal Janke won the 126 weight bracket, freshman Caden Arps won the 113 weight class and junior Peyton Cone in the 285 weight class. Several as were runner-ups in their division too. Junior Eli Simonson in the 220 weight class, senior Jacob Johnson in the 152 weight class, and junior Ethan Villwok in the 182 weight class. Coach Curtis Marolf tweeted on December 31st: “We started 2018 with 5 state qualifiers & a state champion. We finish 2018 rated as a TEAM, several individuals in top 6, won our first team title since 2013 & finished as team runners-up the following week. The sky is the limit in 2019 if we train and compete with a PURPOSE!”

Before the annual Vojetch Invite, Bergan had won the Elgin Pope Wrestling Invitational team title.  Champions were Caden Arps, Koa McIntyre, Ethan Villwok, and Peyton Cone. Runner-ups were Jacob Johnson and Eli Simonson with third-place finishes from Zach Hamilton (12) and Cal Janke. This was the first team title for the Knights in five years.
